Thank you for the reply and the schedule Cynthia. The evidence is
growing that Type II diabetes is a condition your body is in and
completely reversible. Thanks to people like your dad.
I would like to be a part of that list of expert witnesses and living
proof. My next A1C goal is 5.1 % Dec. 2007.
I will write a review for your dad's book. Even though I am an
Electrical Engineer and connected well with your dad's technical
approach I believe every one could use this book.

DeWayne,
You are very welcome. Yesterday, my insurance had a nurse call me to
talk about my diabetes control. At the end of the conversation, I told
her about your book. She had asked me to tell her because I mentioned it
and you during the conversation and she wanted to know more. I hope
this is the start of a trend!! I am in excellent control according to
her, re: my bs levels at this point. I am ready to begin Stage 3 in
earnest, BG control with reduced drugs!! My BGs have been in the low 80s
to upper 70s everyday for sometime now and I am losing weight at a
consistent rate. I am ready to talk to the doctor about reducing my
medications and the nightly insulin dose which is now at 24 U. I thank
you for your book and all the great information in it that helps me
continue on this road to better health and great self-management of this
"thing" called diabetes.
Take care, DeWayne and tell Cynthia to keep on talking to people - she IS needed as are you in this fight for defeating diabetes!!
Have a great day!!
God Bless.

Dear Mr. McCulley,
Was on amazon.com the other day looking for diabetic cookbooks and
happened along your book. Was intrigued by the cover and title, so read
further. Decided after reading a little bit of the contents and being
impressed by what your reviewers had to say, that it could do me no harm
to purchase it. Got the book yesterday and am about 85 pages into the
book and am amazed by some of the things I have learned. Had to go
food shopping a little while ago, so skipped over to the Super Meal
Models in chapter 17 in order to purchase "live" instead of "dead"
foods!!
I am a 57 year old female who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004. Went
on meds and stopped eating white sugar and flour immediately. Dropped a
few pounds and kept my BG somewhat normal. After about 2 years of
"behaving", I decided I was tired of testing and behaving, so started
pretending a wasn't a diabetic anymore. Continued taking my meds, but
other than that, lived my life as I had previous to my diagnosis. This
past June my eyes were starting to get blurry and I knew damn well what
it was from. Went to the doctor, had a complete blood work up. Fasting
BG was 206. A1C was 8.6. Not too good, huh? Doctor put me on Byetta,
in addition to the Actos I've already been taking. BG has come down,
but not a whole heck of a lot.
During the next week or two I will be changing my diet to be the same as
what has worked for you. I pray that it will work for me too.
I'm so glad that God led you down the path He did. I've been praying
for an answer of how to tackle diabetes, and you may have answered my
prayers.
Thank you and Blessings!

Dear DeWayne,
It was my pleasure. Thank you for talking with me! Your story is
wonderful. I have told a lot of people about your story and about your
book. I think it is amazing that you were able to overcome diabetes and
now you are helping so many people who suffer from it. I spoke to one
of the producers who handles Gary Null's radio show this morning and
hopefully someone will contact you about being on the show. Once again,
thank you for calling and best of luck!

I would like to order 4 - 5 of your books (version 2.0). Is there discount pricing for that amount of books?
By the way, I am so impressed by your natural healing method of curing
your diabetes. I don't have the condition, but members of my in-laws
and friends have it. I also enjoyed very much hearing your talk on the
Youtube site. You are so very funny.. with excellent health

Thank you so much for writing the book and for sharing your experience

Could I add my thanks and appreciation to all those you have received
about the book. Since having been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 8 years ago I
have read many books, etc (mostly American) and, without a doubt,
yours isthe best. I live in the United Kingdom. Here, health care is 'free'.
Despite spending tens of billions of UK Pounds each year and having the
largest work force in Europe, the quality goes down each year.
Often, 'the system's' approach is 'painting by numbers'. If one has a certain
reading you have medication 'x' and if it is a different reading you have
medication'y'. Therefore, if one can and has the aptitude to do so, like
you, one has to take personal responsibility. In passing, my Diabetes was
triggered by high blood pressure tablets as I was found subsequently to have had a
susceptibility to the 'disease'. Another example, perhaps, of the cure
being worse than the problem.
Could I leave one thought with you. You will be familiar with the comment
about the US and the UK 'two nations separated by a common language'.
There are so many difference between the US and other parts of the World. I
have attached two pages from a Web site. Given the world wide readership of
books and access to the Internet e.g. Amazon.com would there be merit in
detailing a conversion table?
Best wishes (to both of us, I guess).

Mr McCulley:
I was very pleased to find your book on Amazon and ordered it. As a
former research immunologist who worked in the biopharmaceutical
industry doing drug discover and clearance studies (I helped discover
Enbrel -an arthritis drug - we don't know how it works - another story)
I tried to manage my type II diabetes the "routine" way with disastrous
results.
Using your program I've dropped 50 points in my fasting blood sugars in
2+ weeks. I can't tell you the idiotic dietitian trade off nonsense when
it comes to a type II diet- ugh - You understand
I am upsetting my physicians who want to put me on medication for
everything that is even slightly out of range -just because I am now 50!
Very strong blood pressure pills and cholesterol pills and oral diabetic
medication plus as a clinical researcher I know my numbers aren't that
out of range, but my blood sugars were out of range badly.
As a pharmacokinetics expert, I know taking the other medication would
compound the situation (as you stated in you book) and is actually the
reason everything else is now going out of range is due to the diabetes.
I refuse to go on medication which has serious side-effects and want a
chance to bring things into line. Now after 3 weeks my blood pressure is
high normal and cholesterol is too soon to tell. I sleep better and
more deeply as well.
Anyway, the best benefit is since I am cooking for myself and with the
dog food recall I decided to cook healthy for my dogs. Organic lean
meats, steamed veggies, with rice and flax seed etc (great balanced mix)
it is easy to do.
After 3 weeks, my older dog Chewie has stopped limping and has tons of
energy and doesn't crave dog biscuits like a junk food junkie anymore.
My rescue pup Adam is growing and filling out really well and is perky-
much to Chewie's dismay
So you should expand your book to include pet benefits :)
Thanks and I'll let you know how things progress, I have more weight to
lose and blood sugars to drop. I found as a woman -in the past light
weight training really brought my hemoglobin AIC's down really rapidly
and my Dr thought I had secretly been taking medications. I am going
back to the gym - like a lot of type II people once in line we slack
off..
Thanks

I am going to order maybe six more copies for a few friends.
Not long into it but already things going well, BG under pretty tight
control with Metformin & Januvia and weight coming down, feeling
bette than I have in years,
Odd side effect - eyesight severely worse due to mAcular swelling as a result of lower BG but I am told this is temporary.
Thanks again

I was diagnosed with type II diabetes when I had neck surgery about
eight years ago but I guess I have been truly diabetic a lot longer
than that. Maybe when I was single and drinking a lot it covered it
up. Either way, initially I was full of determination to manage this
thing, and did well with drugs and eating less carbohydrates, but
eventually i became despondent and more or less gave up for five
years. I was and am cynical that while doctors and individuals are
good and want to help that Corporately there is no motivation to cure
the disease, all the profit is in management, slowing the rate of
decay but not truly stopping it.
Over this time I was changing, I quit smoking, got involved wuth a
local church, but still didn't do anything real about the diabetes
until recently. Gradually I have been feeling compelled to take
control of things, started going to the doc again, medication &
measuring BG and so forth, so I was looking around on the internet
when I came across your book - it had an air of authenticity - so I
bought it.
I haven't even started to follow your protocols, not even sure I CAN
follow them all. but I going to give it a good try.
It make sense, seems intuitively right, even if the sheer volume of
information and chamge required are a little overwhelming I am
determined to try, and not quit ofn myself, or on my wife who depends
on me.
Yours is an amazing tale of hope and triumph..
I hope you are sticking with it and are well.
I`ll let you know how I get on with it.

Hello DeWayne,
Well I never thought that I would look forward to breakfast each morning
if it contained veggies. It is almost 2 wks. Now and that is just what
I have been doing. I have salmon or chicken and spinach or brussel
spouts or broccoli every morning. I have seen my blood sugars in a
normal range more times in this last week than I have in my lifetime. I
only remember being in the 90’s 2 times and at those times I was
dropping fast and going into a low blood sugar period. Both due to
medications. I have seen the 90’s and up to 110 so many times this past
period of time that I am so pleased. Have not changed medications so
it is only the food that has changed me.
I am so pleased. I look
forward to my next AC-1 test but it will not be for a few months now
since I just had it done last week. Is there a test they can do that
measures just for the past month results that I could ask to have done
and see how much it has dropped?
Thanks for your help and it was good speaking with you on the phone. I
did e-mail the Center you told me about asking when you would be
speaking again and they have not gotten back to me in any way to
acknowledge my message.
Thank you for your being so timely with your information to me. It is appreciated.

DeWayne,
I was at your talk yesterday at Lori's between 12-2pm. I am the woman
that you talked to during the week with short dark hair. My name is
Pam. I really enjoyed your talk. It really reinforced why I am eating
and living the way I am. I have been watching my food and taking
supplements for 15 years now. I still have Fibromyalgia left out of a
long list of 28 symptoms. I can relate to so much of what you went
through with the doctors. I had doctors telling me I would die young
and that I never would get out of bed.
I now am the GM of Lori's,
manage my own massage business, run and play racquetball and study
ballroom dance. Not bad for a dying person!!!! You really brought back
alot of memories yesterday for me about my experience. I am such a
disciplined. If someone told me to stand on my head and eat an orange 3
times a day to be completely healthy, I would. It is really nice to
meet someone who shares that strength. Getting well has been filled
with so many ups and downs. I am now at the point where it is mostly
ups. Sometimes it creates a sense of lonliness as far as my
relationships with men and my family. They don't understand.
When I
meet people like yourself I realize I am not alone in the battle to stay
healthy. My last challenge is to figure out what I am missing to
finally rid my body of the Fibromyalgia symptoms. I am not sure what
the missing link is but I will continue my search. Thank GOD for people
like you who are going out and spreading the word to others. You are
such a gift. Thank you for sharing yourself so openly with us
yesterday.
God Bless
Pam
PS
Please thank your mom and daughter for me too. I was really glad they threw away your cookies and ice cream!!!!!

Good Morning DeWayne!
How are you? Hopefully all continues to be well. As for my calling
into the show, I'm afraid I don't deserve the "Thank You!" The "Thank
You!" goes to your wonderful, industrious, caring and supporting
daughter Cynthia who sent out an e-mail blast which announced that you
would be on the talk show and which also provided the "call in" number.
Your family is so supportive of you -- it is so wonderful and
heart-warming to see. And I love the way your daughter Cynthia looks
out for, protects you and helps you in any way that she can.
Please say
"Hello" and "Thank You!" to your Mother. I am sooooooooooooooo glad
that she likes the article/book review that was done about you/"Death To
Diabetes". Your Mother is a phenomenal woman and many of today's young
mothers need to take a page out of your Mother's book. Your Mother and
My Mother are from a generation of strong women who put their own
dreams and ambitions aside so that they could concentrate and focus
solely on nurturing their children mentally and spiritually and
concentrated on creating a home -- and doing all of the things that were
necessary to keep a home and the folks living inside of it together.
They believed that once you had children, your life and your existence
revolved around your children. They not only talked the talk but they
walked the walk and made so many sacrifices for their children.
The
young Mothers of today -- especially in our community -- who are
teenagers, 20-somethings and even 30-somethings are doing quite the
opposite -- not all but a good majority are not making any sacrifices
for their children and are not nurturing their children intellectually
and spiritually.
I am on a campaign to encourage my mother to write a
book about Motherhood and raising children. She, like your Mother, is a
very talented woman. So, for Mother's Day, along with the usual
bouquet of roses and a Mother's Day Card, I gave my mother a journal and
even purchased two ink pens and wrapped the journal and the pens up
separately in a colorful gift paper and put them in a pretty gift bag
and presented it to her the day before Mother's Day. You should have
seen the look on her face! She was so surprised (and secretly happy).
So, she asked me: "What is this?" I said: "A journal for you to write
in." She said: "What am I going to write?" I said: "That's up to
you. This is your journal so you can write in it anything you want."
And she said, "I see you even purchased writing pens for me so that I
won't have any excuse, huh?" We laughed. And she protested some more.
But that's my Mom. So, I said to her: "Mom, I bet when you were a
little girl, you never had a diary, did you?" My mother looked at me
and said, "No! My mothre didn't go for no mess like that!" And we both
looked at each other and laughed. Later on, she said, "Well, this year
--2006 is something else. I had to wait until I was 77 years old to
get a diary!"
Well, enough of that! Let's talk about you! Congratulations on your
latest accomplishment -- landing a guest appearance on a live talk radio
show in New York! The word is getting out about you and your valuable
work. I am so glad that you decided to e-mail me about your work and
your book. I continue to tell everybody about you and that they need to
check out your book and your website.
And I'm still going to the Farmer's Market here and buying fresh
vegetables. And, it's not expensive at all. The only reason why I
didn't buy fresh vegetables at the Farmer's Market was because I was
under the mistaken and very wrong impression that fresh vegetables were
expensive. Silly me!
Take care. Stay strong! Stay committed! And continue to be the
phenomenal, brilliant and supertalented individual that I have come to
admire and respect!
All the best to you and your family,
Diane

I really want to thank you for having your book on line and allowing
people to access excerpts from it. It has been an awesom help to me! A
few weeks ago I ended up in emergency due to dehydration, etc. from not
taking care of my diabetes- my fault - I was living and eating as if I
didn't have it! It was a reality check!! My blood sugars weren't
readable - so I'm not sure how high it was - To make a long story short -
my sister had heard about your book and mentioned to me about eating
green vegetables. I started eating broccoli 2 and 3 times a day and my
glucose rapidly came down.
This prompted me to do more research and look up your book and all I can say is thank you so much for your help! I believe I am on track - I haven't had to take insulin (although my doctor wanted me to) because I just felt that insulin did not help and like yourself I am scared of the needles and amputations. I am now eating vegetables and fruit (strawberries and lots of them!) and will be purchasing your book this weekend - you're right medications alone cost more than the book!
You're a blessing,
Ruth

Hi DeWayne
Congratulations on the article. I did talk to Chris last week for about
an hour. I told her that I agreed with the fact that you were willing
to not just listen to what the doctor was saying but you also did a
great deal of research on your own about diabetes and that you were not
afraid to questioned the recommended treatment for diabetes. I told her
that I was happy that you were the first African American person that I
had met in all my years at the American Diabetes Association who was
willing to share and be a cheerleader for others who had diabetes.
You have also reached more people, than the ADA has done since I left. Congratulations!!! I owe you lunch.

Hello DeWayne
Thanks for all the good advice and your support, I will not let it go
to waste. I agree so much about what you said,"it is more important that
you get yourself healthy first -- then, you become a beacon of hope and
light for others" and found it really hit home because of something I wrote
myself last May. I had been reading a self help book on how to create a
vision of the future, what my ideal future would look like, my vision
statement starts with, "In the future I see myself as a strong healthy
guiding lamp for those around me." The statment goes on to confirm that
that the fuel for this lamp comes through God.
I have already started to focous on eliminating some of the "dead"
foods from my diet and will continue to do so well I work towards all of
them. Over the last year I have been trying to focous on 5 - 6 smaller
meals a day, do you agree? On work days I start the day with a orange and
then 2 hrs later a big bowl of old fashon oatmeal with apples, cinnamon and
a little 2% milk. I often have a hard boiled egg for a little protien also.
Basicaly I try to start my day with carbs and work into protien as the day
goes on. This is the results from info I gained a few years back from a
book "Eating Alive". My biggest vice is coffee and eating in resteraunts
which is becoming harder to do as I begin to gain more knowledge and the
desire to listen to that knowledge. I will be giving the Super Breakfast a
go starting tommorrow, hopefully there is some freash spinach in the market.
:)
Having missed alot of work the last few years has also left my
finances in pretty ruff shape so the offer of sending you a money order may
end up being my best course of getting a copy of your book. How much will
the shipping and handling be in addition to the book? From past business
experiance I have learned that shipping several things is often not much
more than shipping one. That being the case I was wondering what cost I
would be looking at to get a dozen copys of your book. I know two people
off the top of my head that would be interested in owning a copy and I would
like to get a copy for my oldest daughter and also my oldest son. They are
in there early 20's living else where and I can see that they are on a very
slippery slope as far as health goes. I also have a close friend that owns
a couple of health food stores that I would like to share the book with. I
figure the other half dozen will be good for thoose that will be looking for
solid fertilizer as this beacon begins to shine and plants a few seeds. :)
Well once again I say Thanks DeWayne, there is no doubt that I have
been blessed by getting to talk with you. Looking forward towards this lamp
no longer flicking on and off but shining solid and bright.
Yours in Body,Mind & Spirit
Kelvin :)
P.S. The solid fertilizer was ment as a positive form not negative. :)

I just wanted to say thanks, I have been strugling with this desease for
along time. My training for work is a industrial mechanic so I have been
gifted with strong analitcal skills also. I have also very stong spiritual
beliefs so I truly believe that our maker gave our bodys the tools to heal
if we give it the right fuel to work with. Last year I was able to
discouver alot of the info that you are saying works. It has been a very up
and down year last year. I started off the year making a lot of intresting
discouveries towards my health yet around the middle of June I came down
with shingles leaving me very lost and almost ready to say enough to every
thing. Once I was able to wean myself off the pain killers and return to
work in Oct I began to once again focous on my health. I have come to the
conclusion that our spiritual health is were it all needs to start. We need
to build on the solid foundation of life. To make a long story short I just
want to say THANKS for giving me hope. I truly believe that I am blessed by
you taking the time to share. It makes all the difference having some one
in the trenches telling others to move forward.
Yours in the Lord and in the drive for better health not only for
ourselfs but all we may come to know,

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions in my last e-mail. I think
you did an excellent job on your book and it needs to be offered on our website.
My wife thanked God one day for allowing me to have diabetes. We relate to how
you have delt with the disease and how you want to help diabetics. We can help
each other help others but it is still up to each diabetic to take responsibility
for their disease. I believe God made the body to heal itself. I do not want our
customers to depend solely on the helpful effects of Combetic as they do with
drugs. Combetic can be used as a natural tool for helping to control blood sugar.
You have a very powerful testimony that needs to be shared. Would it be alright
to write an article about entering your article story on our site to PR Webb?
This would drive some diabetics to your link to order your book.
As you can see, we need information about nutrition. (We just touch on it) Could
you please write an article as long as you like outlining your testimony and
importance of the topics of your book with your book offer? We will place a link
on this list, DeWayne McCulley Article of How an Ex-Diabetic Beat Diabetes,
Despite a Blood Glucose Level Over 1,300!
Thank You for All

DeWayne-Amazing! I attended your talk at the Nikken meeting last
Saturday as a guest. Your presentation was awesome-absolutely right on
target scientifically, and a real wake-up call! Accurate, humorous,
personal, with a little ethnicity tossed in for good measure. I
appreciate that you've taken this on as your mission, educating those at
such high risk. Your heart is in the right place.
I'm an orthopedic surgeon, in private practice in Rochester. I attended

I'd like to bring my parents to your session at St. Mary's Hospital.
I'd like all my patients to hear it. Do you deliver the same talk?
Does it vary week to week? You need an infomercial, man!

Dwayne,
Thank you, thank you, thank you...for all your research in such a short
period of time. Yes, this is a tricky one to address. Honestly, when I was
first diagnosed, it was back in 1998. An asthma attack arose after not
having an attack for your many years. I want to the Dr.'s they X-rayed the
chest/lung area and voila, they discovered abnormal sized lungs (glands). I
believe all things happen for a reason.
Truly, thank God, I have not had any problems with shortness of breath or
respiratory concerns. I do excercise (jog) 3 - 4x per week. My PC and/or
respiratory Dr. were seeing me every six months. However, the respiratory
Dr. told tme hat as long as I am feeling good and there is no change, and I
don't feel the need to see him as frequently, that he would leave it up to
me with reference to scheduling.
The only reason that I have been taken Playqenill (1st) and methotrexate
(2nd) is because of the fibrous tissue around the nostril and puffyness in
the corners of the eyes. As bad it it may sound, when you start seeing
things on your face that have not been there before, you (I) get a little
concerned as well as self-conscious.
I left a message on your voicemail, would you like me respond to your
questions via e-mail or would you like to have a phone coversation. I'll be
in this evening after 9:00 p.m. or tomorrow after 6:00 p.m.
Thanks again, Carol

Dear Dewayne,
Thank you for the timely information on diabetes. My husband, Mike, and I
are so appreciative for the phone time you gave, as well, answering my many
questions. Alas, the questions keep coming and I eagerly await the
publication of your book!
Mike stopped drinking coffee on Sunday and he was pretty miserable for the
following 2 days. Habits die hard. We, also, implemented the super meal concept.
He's dropped a couple pounds as a result and is down to 198. (he was 225lbs in Jan)
We started testing Mike's blood glucose yesterday. I can already see this
is an invaluable tool. Interestingly, last night he ate a late dinner after exercise
and his glucose was 111 before bed.
Today it shot up to 140 after a snack of raw cashews and an apple but was
down to 126 after dinner.
I understand we want those numbers under 120. How troublesome are today's
higher numbers I wonder?
The dietary plan you've outlined seems similar to Atkins. Now that you're
cured, can you break from the strict plan on occasion? If so, how often?
Is a little vinegar permissible with the olive oil for a homemade salad dressing?
Again, thank you for your kind assistance.
Gratefully,
Pattie

Good morning DeWayne,
It was nice meeting you at Helen's picnic on Friday. I had fun. I was
wondering if I could bother you for some information about the nutrition
that you were talking about on Friday. Could you please define the
high protein, high fat, and the other two things that you mentioned.
Could you give me alternatives on what to substitute for certain things
that I would like to cook (i.e. cookies, cakes, pancakes - these some of
the favorites in my house).
I'm not a real fish eater but I do it tuna and salmon from a can. I'd
like to be able to cook salmon for my husband and father-in-law - just
don't know how to do it or how to pick the right fish. You mentioned
that omega-3 eggs are good to eat because these chickens haven't been on
hormones and that the black Styrofoam is the one that depicts the
same. Could you give me other hints?
Thanks for your time,

Not only that, but giving the knowledge and resolve to push further and
