Comments : We have purchased Death to Diabetes and also the Cookbook.
My husband has been on the diet for two weeks and after 10 days has cut his insulin intake by 75%!!!

We would like to set up a series of appointments to talk with you.

We would like a recommendation for a water filter. Would you please send us your recommendation?
We are currently drinking bottled LeBleu water, which I think is the very best of the bottled waters. I would like to be using filtered water for cooking.

Thank you!

Dear DeWayne,

I am glad to report that my HbA1C is now around 6 without any diabetic medication. Thanks for your guidance through the Death To Diabetes book that I had purchased. I am working towards bringing the HbA1C to around 5 in the next month or two.

Please find attached a recent news article that says there are more than 50 million diabetics in India and number will increase sharply in the coming years.

Your book could be of great use to the type 2 diabetics in India. I wanted to explore being your affiliate in India to promote your book here, and even get it translated to a few Indian languages (there are more than 20 major languages in India).

Do let me know your thoughts. We could even have a scheduled telephonic talk.

With best regards,

Manoj Mittal

Thanks to Mr. MCulley and his kind caring staff . It means soo much. Tell Mr. McCulley he can consider it done. I will be glad to enter those comments on Amazon.

My blog will be about my journey to wellness and other women's issues. My belief is that there should be an underground wellness movement to heal ourselves. I'm glad the doctors are there but they are falling short on our healthcare in a lot of areas and I don't think we should rely on them wholeheartedly without question..because sadly, healthcare in this country is motivated by money more than saving lives.

I can send the link when I'm finished so he can review it..Mr. McCulley is a genious and more people need to know about him. If I hadn't purchased his book I'd still be shooting myself in the stomach with Lantus and slowly rotting away..

Wow, Thanks for the swift answer. I am telling everyone
I know about Mr. McCulley.

My blood pressure is 207/107 without meds.
It is currently 117/79 with Amlodipine 10 mg. and Triam/Hctz 37.5-25.

My sugar levels are 80-104 thanks to Mr. McCulley.
This is down fron 535. My doctor wants to take credit for it but he can't and I won't let him..

Everything is under control except the blood pressure which is confusing since I have gained so much progress elsewhere.

I have lost almost 50 lbs and I look great. Down from a size 20 to a size 10. Sheri Sheppard ain't got nothing on me. I look a lot better. (LOL)

I might have to set up an appointment with Mr. McCulley but I know it would be easier if I had the results of the other tests. My C-Reactive protein is normal but he won't do the homocysteine, lipoprotien and fibrin. He says they are specilized tests.

Thanks again for all of your help. I was blessed when I accidentally found this website.

Next visit I will demand it or I walk.

I am also a System engineer (Electrical). Two years ago I bought and read your book Death to Diabetes and have been able to maintain my a1C at 5.5 without any meds.

I did a bunch of research, read books like Good Calories, Bad Calories, Reversing Diabetes, etc. and in the process saw your book on AMAZON as one of their other recommendations. The feedback there from readers convinced me to buy the book.

I was taking Glimepride for over two years, but stopped taking meds immediately. I would measure my Sugar levels (SL) and for the first two weeks was exercising 3-4 times a day. I have hiked a mtn where you gain 800' in 2 miles almost every day since 1995 and worked out with weights 4 times a week, but still had higher SLs. I found measuring 2 hours after eating provided me the best insights to how my body was processing food into sugars. And I would often workout to get my SL below 110 before I would go to bed at night.

I have found Vanadium to be very effective at helping me keep my SLs below 110 two after I eat.

Thanks!
Terry

Hi Ian. Just found your blog & good on you! Just wanted to tell freakmod that he should get his/her hands on a book called "Death to Diabetes" by a bloke called DeWayne McCulley. Google it - he has a web site otherwise grab a copy from ebay or anywhere else you can get your hands on it. He probably isn't as strict as Raw for 30 days but he is on the same track and gives excellent detailed information. Hope this helps - it certainly did for me

I want to leave a comment since there aren't any...DeWayne McCulley is my cousin. His mother and my father are sister and brother, she being the eldest. Unfortunately, we lost my aunt in 2006. But while she was with us, she was DeWayne's biggest cheerleader. Everytime she and I spoke she would always talk about how proud she was of DeWayne for overcoming this illness and for this book that he had written. DeWayne, your family here in Sharon and Farrell, PA are very proud of you and you are always in our prayers.

Comments : I bought your book a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I did was cut out the dead and processed foods. The second thing I did was eat brussel sprouts until they were coming out of my ears. For the first time in years I feel good. I wasn't a full blown diabetic, but I felt like crap most of the time. My hands and feet have regained some of the lost sensation that I had been suffering with. Also, my whole body inflammation seems to have quieted down. Thank God you wrote this book. Dear Mr. McCulley,
You've helped me so much through your book and CD'S and DVD'S I just had to tell you.  I'll be 60 in December, and for 27 years I've been permanently disabled, 25years in a wheelchair.  Your meal plan has helped me cut way down on the use of insulin.  And I've lost over 30 lbs since your teleseminar in April.
I cannot move around much due to another neurological disorder.  When I tell the doctor, he say's that's nice but doesn't change my prescription for the insulin.  He knows I know how to cut back, so I'm sure he's not worried.  Maybe he doesn't think I'll stick to it.  I have no cravings, and I'm not hungry.  That's a first for my lifetime.

Also I can look at a yummy chocolate cream filled donut--from Dunkin Donuts, and I used to eat 3 of them and still be hungry, now I can say no, thank you and mean it. We have a coffee hour in the community room on Sunday Mornings.  Dunkin Donuts donates 2 dozen donuts for us and Publix Supermarkets donates day old bread and goodies.  the leftovers are used for Tuesday morning blood pressure check--that's when I see the stuff and can say NO.

I want to send Dr. Phil and e-mail about you and your book, and how it has helped me, even though I cannot exercise.  Is it o.k. with you?  I think you could help a lot of people out there who watch his program who are diabetics who cannot exercise much.  I know until I heard about you I was getting near the morbidly obese line and still gaining.  I'm eating more of the right kinds of foods now than I was.  I didn't think canned goods and frozen dinners would hurt and make me still gain weight.  If Dr. Phil is interested I'll give the credit to you and tell a little about your book, and give the info. how to contact you for purchasing your book.  Please let me know.   Sincerely,
                                                                              Kathy

Good Evening DeWayne,

How are you?  Hopefully my note finds that all continues to be well with you and your family.   Many thanks for your kind note!   By the way, I thought you'd like to know that as a result of interviewing you, reading your book, and continuing to modify my diet - I lost weight without really trying.  Adding more green vegetables, adding garlic, sweet basel, fruits (strawberries, grapes), salads to my diet together with abstaining from my 1/2 gallon of ice cream routine and some exercise did the trick.  I didn't realize how much weight I had lost until people starting walking up to me and saying, "W-O-W!  You really lost a lot of weight!"    I'm not trying to lose weight -- I'm just trying to keep the arteries to my heart and brain UNCLOGGED!

Thanks for everything!

Here's to your continued success!

Best regards,

DeWayne,
I'm 2 months new to T2 and appreciate your DVD and book.  I've just watched your DVD and will be reading your book (purchased both).  I'm also an engineer and appreciate your approach to the "system problem".  Started w/ a 417 from a friend's meeter-check, bought one, and now am averaging <200 w/o meds - mostly reduced carbs.  Reduced carbs seems a short term starting point - and your examples point the way forward to better health.  Weight loss has stalled (220 to 215 at 5'8") and thus the low-carbs only approach seems lacking.
Thus again Thanks,
Any comments are welcome and I will plan to give you an update after a while.

Hi,
I have something that I just wanted to share with you.

I just received an email from a person on a (diabetes) website forum that I joined.  I told her about the book “Death to Diabetes” about a week and a half ago and this was her reply below.

Hi,

Today is my birthday and I am reading my birthday present Death to Diabetes. I am happy to say that so far I am doing everything right, but I will continue reading so I will be sure I can improve on everything. Thank you for telling me about this book.

I too, was brought to the hospital 8 months ago with a B. S. reading of over 900, fortunate for me my daughter noticed and took action. In the last 9 months I am happy to say I rarely have to take insulin during the day and have lowered my intake of Lantus at bedtime from 144 units to now 50.   With the help of this book I am determined to use even less and although my doctor says I will always have to use insulin, she could definitely be wrong.

Thanks again,

Jacq

Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR AND A HEALTHY ONE ALSO.

I am so happy to be able to tell others about this great book!  I also just received your Live DVD which is just as great.

I would also like to share maybe an option concerning the program as you requested others to share their options.  I was wondering if Mr. McCulley would ever consider writing a Super Meals Cookbook that contains recipes of his super meals.  Also to  have an online affiliate program in order for others to sell his book and help spread the word.

Please let me know what you think.

God Bless,

Hi DeWayne,                                                     Nov 29, 2007

Just finished reading your book – great work!

In February, knowing  nothing about diabetes, I decided to start advocating for a diabetic friend of the family, and invested 1-3 hours/day for 8 months in self-education and in communicating and in maintaining logging documents for this 40-yr-old type-1.
The following is my way of saying thank you for the work that you have done which will be most beneficial to me and to others I know:

1. I plan to provide you, within a week, a 4-5 page critique of your book that I feel might contribute to enhancement of any upcoming edition.

2. I plan to post, within a month, a very positive 1000-word review of your book on Amazon.com which will not include any material from the critique.

3. Since raw foods comprise a significant component of your protocols, I am offering you access to Jenna Norwood’s, raw foods documentary and raw food preparation tv segments,  http://www.superchargeme.com/   Jenna@NorwoodPR.com.  My daughter, Jenna, would be most pleased to hear from you. And if you might be doing a workshop in Sarasota Florida, do ask about her raw foods café.

Many thanks,

Dear Mr. McCulley,

Was on amazon.com the other day looking for diabetic cookbooks and happened along your book.  Was intrigued by the cover and title, so read further.  Decided after reading a little bit of the contents and being impressed by what your reviewers had to say, that it could do me no harm to purchase it.  Got the book yesterday and am about 85 pages into the book and am amazed by some of the things I have learned.   Had to go food shopping a little while ago, so skipped over to the Super Meal Models in chapter 17 in order to purchase "live" instead of "dead" foods!!

I am a 57 year old female who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004.  Went on meds and stopped eating white sugar and flour immediately.  Dropped a few pounds and kept my BG somewhat normal.  After about 2 years of "behaving", I decided I was tired of testing and behaving, so started pretending a wasn't a diabetic anymore.  Continued taking my meds, but other than that, lived my life as I had previous to my diagnosis.  This past June my eyes were starting to get blurry and I knew damn well what it was from.  Went to the doctor, had a complete blood work up.  Fasting BG was 206.  A1C was 8.6.  Not too good, huh?  Doctor put me on Byetta, in addition to the Actos I've already been taking.  BG has come down, but not a whole heck of a lot.

During the next week or two I will be changing my diet to be the same as what has worked for you.  I pray that it will work for me too.

I'm so glad that God led you down the path He did.  I've been praying for an answer of how to tackle diabetes, and you may have answered my prayers.

Thank you and Blessings!
Jen

P. Valatka (Sterling, VA United States)

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 7 months ago. When searching Amazon for a book on the subject the title Death to Diabetes really jumped out at me, because that is what I wanted to happen for my diabetes. I have since read many books on the subject, each with some good info, some not so good. Death to Diabetes takes you full circle, DeWayne McCulley covers just about every topic you will need to know about regarding your diabetes journey and recovery. His advice is sound, and his super meals are key to getting your diabetes under control. If you only read one book on the subject of diabetes I would strongly recommend this one, I reference it often. My Dr. compliments my success when I visit her.

5.0 out of 5 starsDeath to Diabetes - Great Life Changing Book, October 10, 2007

Mr. John W. Wolff

I have Type 2 diabetes and following the diet and exercise plan put forward in this book is really helping me. It is obvious that the author DeWayne McCulley knows this subject well. His background in biochemical engineering provides credibility.

I bought the book a little over five weeks ago and was on several medications that were treating symptoms related to my poor diet and lack of exercise. After following the suggestions for diet and exercise from Mr. McCulley's book for just 5 weeks, I am off my blood pressure medication; my cholesterol medication has been reduced. My blood glucose levels are dropping and I have lost considerable weight. I feel much better.

The methods suggested in Death to Diabetes work. The ideas are stated so clearly that I was compelled to give it a try. The book can help you change your idea of what food can do for you. Now I view food not only as a source of pleasure but also as a tool to make my body healthier.

If you have Type 2 diabetes and want to get passed it, this book is just the tool you need!

Her glucose readings have been steadily returning to normal ranges and she is off oral diabetic meds and is no longer on daily insulin injections. All this within 6months of reeducating herself to the truth. This is truly DEATH to DIABETES!!! Follow it, dont question it, and see the results for yourself!!

My husband has diabetes and up until recently it has been uncontrollable, so we've been reading book after book on the subject. When I purchased "Death to Diabetes", it was like none other in scope. McCulley's book is thorough and goes in depth on the cause, cure and prevention of this horrible disease. In addition, it is written from the perspective of someone who has suffered through, almost died from and then reversed the disease. You can throw out all the other books on diabetes. This is the one every diabetic should read.

A great book on how to manage, control and perhaps reverse type 2 diabetes. Mr. McCulley is extremely methodical and scientific in his analyses of the disease. He outlines the reasons for T2 and tells what he did to "cure" his diabetes thereby passing on his methods to the reader through his "Wellness" program. His background in biochemistry and medicine when relating to diabetes is expert. He is very well-informed and passes his tried and true methods of control (Stages 1-4) and ultimate "cure" (Stages 5 & 6) on to those who choose to follow his suggested approach through these 6 stages. I highly recommend this book to those who wish to be in super control and possibly rid themselves of this dread disease.

By Eileen Gallagher (Brooklyn, New York United States)

This book is a MUST read for anyone with Type 2 Diabetes. After trying the program for just 3 days, my BS levels dropped 150 points and are still going down. I am hopeful that I will have a full reversal and will someday be medication free.
This is a simple program to follow, that will change your life completely. Your body will be fed the foods it needs to heal itself and you will no longer crave the "dead" foods that Mr.McCully speaks of in his book.
I can't thank Mr. McCulley enough for writing this book and sharing his own near death experience with diabetes. The plan he devised REALLY works! It's just amazing to see my BS levels dropping daily. When diagnosed in Oct 2005, my BS was 460 and with meds and the doctors direction, I couldnt get it below 300 on most days. I took it this morning, after being on Mr. McCulley's program now for 10 days and my BS level was 122. I think that's pretty incredible.
I feel as if I have control over my sugar for the first time since being diagnosed and I owe it all to Mr. McCulley.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I recommend this book not only to all diabetics but to anyone who is suffering from his or her unhealthy lifestyle. Although Mr. McCulley's theories are not strictly in line with current medical thinking, his advice for changing our lives for the better is right on. Over half of all Type 2 diabetics who strictly follow his advice will be cured of their diabetes problem, as well as lowering their cholesterol and blood pressure. Don't miss out on this book. 5.0 out of 5 starsThis Book is Changing My Life for the Better!!!, December 19, 2005
By P. Priest

This book is changing my life, and I don't have Type II Diabetes! Notice on the cover that it also has tombstones for Obesity and High Blood Pressure. If I could read the other tombstones they would probably have other diseases engraved on them. I am Insulin Resistant and overweight which I learned from this book is a precursor to Diabetes Type II. I have tried everything for years (various food programs and various forms of exercise) and have not been able to lose weight.

Until now.

This book is written from DeWayne McCulley's personal experience at beating Type II Diabetes and I can tell from this book he has done a great deal of research. I've read many health books, but this is the first health book that I've read that takes me one or more steps beyond the others to explain why I should do something or why something happens the way it does. For example, my personal trainer said I should warm up for 5 minutes, weight train, do cardio for at least 20 minutes (with 5 minutes warming up and 5 minutes cooling down), and then perform a series of stretches. It worked for me for a while, but then I got smart and thought if I do cardio first, I should lose weight faster, but in fact I gained more weight - and DeWayne McCulley explains why this happens and why we need to exercise in a certain order - and the proper super foods we need to consume and when to consume them!

I use this book like I use an encyclopedia; I pick it up and start reading in any chapter and I'm not able to put it down until I finish the chapter! I have learned a great deal, have implemented the author's suggestions, and Iknow I will learn a great deal more as I continue to read this book.

This book is not theory, it's real. DeWayne McCulley's personal story is so inspiring -- there is hope for diabetics. It walks you through each step (stage) in easy-to-follow steps. If you want to understand the science, it's in there. If you just want to get better, you can just follow the steps. If you want to do your own research, it gives you medical references. And, I've never read a health book that provided inspirational quotes from people like Oprah, Muhammad Ali, and Arthur Ashe. This book does not ignore the power of the human spirit; and, it gives you ideas how to use that spirit to get well! It even warns you about some of the health scams and healthy foods that are not healthy -- and it explains why. And, there is so much more.

It explains in simple terms why people are diabetic and what they can do to change that in a short period of time. It explains why most vitamin supplements don't work and how to figure out if your supplements are any good. You can become your own expert by reading this book.

I went to DeWayne McCulley's website ([...]) -- you can look at his actual medical records (on the About Author page). And, you can look inside the book on the Book Highlights page, where DeWayne has given us various pages from Chapters 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, the Appendix, and the Index which adds up to 62 pages of his book!

Book Review at MyHealthBlog.org

I’ve seen DeWayne McCulley on YouTube with his lively and humorous talks about curing diabetes.  In the book, DeWayne’s accent and humor is toned down to a formal manner.  Hey, this is book form.

Now I liked the book.  The title is catchy.  Since in the USA the word “cure” is illegal to use, DeWayne resorts to “death to diabetes” and diabetes “wellness”.  I don’t live in the USA so I say cure.  This book is a large of component of the cure for MOST diabetes cases.

I like the charts, I like the methodologies, this is an absolute beginner’s book.  Written for the usual joe who has never ever been exposed to cures.  The diets are transitional, people are used to these kinds of complicated ways of eating and DeWayne teaches them how to do it right.  The book can be used as a general wellness guide for any health problem that can be addressed via diet and some detoxes.

Diabetics will love the credible tone as DeWayne’s blood sugar rose to fantastic heights that put him into a coma, but later on with the help of his mother, daughter and sister, he found his cure for his diabetes.  I think it was his mother who initially knew the cure for diabetes, DeWayne’s experience and methodical thinking allowed him to write the cure in book form.

Diabetics will love the chapters on how to wean yourself away from drugs until you totally get rid of all drugs.  Now that is what I call a cure.  No drugs, no supplements, for the rest of your life.

I do hope that in future versions of Death to Diabetes, DeWayne adds raw foodism as the fast way of getting things done.  I’d suggest to DeWayne to add raw paleolithic dieting with high saturated raw fats as an alternative diet.  Of course, your animal foods must be organic when eating raw animal foods.

I am pretty sure a man like DeWayne will continuously be improving and expanding his knowledge every year of his life.

A lot of wonderful insights to a healing program for type 2 diabetes. This man DeWayne McCulley, reversed his type 2 diabetes and is today no longer a type 2. He reveals his way of doing that and shares his story, his knowledge and insights. Really a blessing and am now following his plan.

Its a book that you read through, and then reuse as a constant friend and reference tool.

Wow -- I usually don't care much for "health" or "nutrition" books -- most of them say the same general stuff. BUT this book actually helped a friend of mine get off all the drugs she was taking!! She convinced me to read it because she said it would help me -- even though I was not diabetic. My friend thought it would help me lose a few pounds. :-)

So, I tried this man's diet (he calls it a "super meal" or a "super breakfast") -- and, I lost weight and still had energy!

And, my friend is still doing well without the diabetic drugs -- her doctors are SHOCKED that she has been able to control her blood sugar without falling back onto the drugs!

The author of this book almost died from a diabetic coma, and somehow figured out how to use his engineering skills to get off the insulin and improve his health.

I wonder if he realizes how many lives he is saving, and how much HOPE he is giving to people.

Everyone should read this man's inspiring story -- even if you're not diabetic and you just want to lose a few pounds :-)

p.s. My friend says he now has a diabetes cookbook and a boot camp program -- I can't wait to read them! :-)
